How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 28 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 15 of 28 (~54%) for quality reasons. The remaining 13 are what we'd actually surface.
- 10 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 3 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 1 priced above the curated ceiling
- 1 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 103 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (SNES) because they are: that's the noise.

Lufia II: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Product code & saving. The US release is a Natsume-published SNES cart that keeps progress in battery-backed save memory. A 1996 cart's original battery may be dead, so budget for a battery swap even when the seller says it "saves". Check that the product code on the label matches the US release (NTSC-U/C), not the Japanese Estpolis Denki II.
- Print variants. We don't claim a specific reprint or revision mark here. If a seller advertises a "first print" or "variant", ask for a label photo and compare it against a known authentic copy before paying extra.
- Listing traps we saw while tuning.
- Lufia & the Fortress of Doom (the first game) and "Lufia 1 & II" combos turn up in the same searches, and the first game is a different, cheaper cart. Confirm the title says II or 2.
- Manual-only, map-only, box-only and strategy-guide listings use the full game title and sit at very different asking prices than a cart. The feed screens most of them out, but read the title before you click.
- Listings titled "Remastered" are not the original cartridge, and the feed rejects them.
Buying Super Nintendo games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Super Nintendo cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
