How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 139 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 131 of 139 (~94%) for quality reasons. The remaining 8 are what we'd actually surface.
- 116 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 11 shipped from a region we exclude
- 2 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Ogre Battle (SNES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 101 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Ogre Battle (SNES) because they are: that's the noise.

Ogre Battle: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Region and release. This is the US Super Nintendo release of Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen (1995). The game also came out on the Super Famicom in Japan. Those copies are a separate, much cheaper market, and the feed filters them out. Check that the label and listing say the US version.
- Saves. Progress is kept on the cartridge. The original save battery is a flat coin cell, and cells this old routinely fail. Budget for a battery swap whatever the seller says, and prefer listings that mention a save test.
- Print variants. We don't claim to know distinguishing marks between prints. Compare the label and back of the cart against a known authentic photo, and ask the seller for close-ups.
- Listing traps we saw. Box-only and replacement-box listings carry the full game title and sometimes a cartridge-sized price. Fan-modified "balanced" versions are sold under the original title. The feed excludes them, but read titles on any listing found elsewhere.
- Not the same game. Ogre Battle 64 and the Tactics Ogre games share words with this title. Make sure the listing shows the SNES cartridge.

Buying Super Nintendo games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Super Nintendo cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
