How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 36 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 15 of 36 (~42%) for quality reasons. The remaining 21 are what we'd actually surface.
- 12 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Tetris & Dr. Mario (SNES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 113 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Tetris & Dr. Mario (SNES) because they are: that's the noise.

Tetris & Dr. Mario: collector & reseller spec sheet
- One cart, two games. This is a single Nintendo-published SNES cartridge from 1994 carrying both Tetris and Dr. Mario. It is a different release from the NES Dr. Mario, the Game Boy Dr. Mario and Tetris Attack, which share the names but not the cartridge.
- Product code. Sellers commonly put
SNS-ATFEin the title. Check that the label code matches the US release before paying a premium for any copy sold on "rare" claims. - Print variants. An early-run retail print and a later Player's Choice budget reprint both exist, and sellers list both. Read the box or label in the photos rather than trusting a "1st print" or "rare variant" claim in the title.
- Listing traps seen while tuning. Display-only store boxes and promo cards are sold under the game's name but contain no game. PAL copies (Australian and Italian sellers especially) sit in the same search results as US copies. Multi-game SNES lots and "Super Mario Kart + Tetris & Dr. Mario" bundles also carry the title.
- Sealed copies. Sealed asking prices run far above loose and CIB, and many sealed listings are graded or described with seam claims. Compare the grader's certificate to the photo before treating one as a bargain.
Buying Super Nintendo games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Super Nintendo cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
