How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 7 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 5 of 7 (~71%) for quality reasons. The remaining 2 are what we'd actually surface.
- 3 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems (SNES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 100 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems (SNES) because they are: that's the noise.

War of the Gems: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release: Capcom's side-scrolling action game for the SNES, released in the US in 1996. It is a different game from the Capcom fighting game Marvel Super Heroes, so don't let those two sets of listings blur together.
- Product code & saves: check that the label's product code matches the US release rather than a Japanese Super Famicom cart. The Japanese version carries the same title text in many listings, which is why this feed rejects Super Famicom, SFC and NTSC-J wording and Japan-located sellers.
- Print variants: no variant premium is documented here. Treat any seller claiming a rare print as unverified and ask for a label photo.
- Listing traps: replacement "custom" boxes and insert trays are sold on their own and sometimes with a tested cart. Ask whether the box is original. Cover art, posters and empty cases also carry the game's name; the feed filters the ones it recognizes. Sealed copies are sometimes graded, so asking prices there run far above a standard sealed copy.
Buying Super Nintendo games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Super Nintendo cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
