How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 26 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 9 of 26 (~35%) for quality reasons. The remaining 17 are what we'd actually surface.
- 6 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 2 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Darkwing Duck (NES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 119 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Darkwing Duck (NES) because they are: that's the noise.

Darkwing Duck: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Publisher and year: Capcom's Disney's Darkwing Duck, listed by sellers as 1992 for the NES. Check that the product code on the label matches the US release.
- Same name, other hardware. A Game Boy version and a TurboGrafx-16 HuCard version both exist and are listed constantly as just "Darkwing Duck". The TurboGrafx copies ask far more than the NES cart, so read the platform in the photos before comparing asking prices.
- Not the NES cart: Famicom multicarts and Dendy-style cartridges that carry the Darkwing Duck name turn up cheaply. A real US cart is the Capcom label in the photos, not a multi-game board.
- Rental copies: Blockbuster-style rental boxes appear now and then. Treat them as their own thing and compare against the seller's photos, not a standard retail CIB.
- Related: the same era of Capcom Disney carts is covered at DuckTales.
- Graded copies are a separate tier. WATA and similar graded sealed copies ask many times what a CIB copy does, so compare them only against other graded listings.
Buying NES games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every NES cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
