How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 7 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 4 of 7 (~57%) for quality reasons. The remaining 3 are what we'd actually surface.
- 3 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Little Samson (NES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 90 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Little Samson (NES) because they are: that's the noise.

Little Samson: collector & reseller spec sheet
Taito published Little Samson for the NES in North America in 1992. It's one of the most expensive licensed US NES carts, so most listings in this feed are priced as rare collectibles, not ordinary games.
- Product code. Little Samson came out in more than one region. Before you pay, check that the code on the cart label and box matches the US release. A Scandinavian PAL copy with an "SCN" code turned up during tuning, and it was listed under the same title as the US cart.
- Print variants. We don't know of a budget reprint of the US cart. Prices vary mainly with the condition of the label and box, with graded sealed copies on top.
- Cheap "new" carts are reproductions. During tuning, several "Brand New" Little Samson carts were listed for a small fraction of what authentic loose copies ask, some of them labelled "NTSC-U/C". The feed's price floor drops them. Any listing priced near ordinary-game prices should be treated as a repro until the photos and board prove otherwise.
- Famicom imports with NES in the title. The Japanese release, Seirei Densetsu Lickle, is often listed as "Little Samson Famicom NES". It's a smaller Famicom cart, it isn't the US release, and the feed excludes it.
Buying NES games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every NES cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
