How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 71 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 46 of 71 (~65%) for quality reasons. The remaining 25 are what we'd actually surface.
- 40 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 2 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 2 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Wizards & Warriors (NES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 103 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Wizards & Warriors (NES) because they are: that's the noise.

Wizards & Warriors: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release: the original Wizards & Warriors is the 1987 Acclaim NES release. It is the first game in a three-game series, and the later entries are separate cartridges.
- Sequels are the main mix-up. Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors II and Wizards & Warriors III: Kuros: Visions of Power use the same series name in their titles and sell for different prices. This feed only tracks the original, so check that a listing's photo and title name the first game before you buy.
- Series bundles. Sellers sometimes list the original together with a sequel in one title. Those are priced as multi-game sets and don't reflect the cost of the single cart.
- Authenticity. Check the product code on the label against a known authentic photo, and treat a Phillips screw on the back as a sign of an opened or reshelled cart.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: sellers pairing the original's name with a sequel's art or manual, and manual-only or insert-only listings titled like the game. Look for the words "cartridge", "game" or "complete" in the title, and confirm the photo shows what you're paying for.
Buying NES games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every NES cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
