Galaga: collector & reseller spec sheet
- US release name. The US NES version of Galaga is titled Galaga: Demons of Death, so sellers use both names. The feed matches on "Galaga" and applies the NES platform guard.
- Famicom copies. The Japanese Famicom Galaga is a different cartridge with different pricing. The feed rejects Japan listings and Famicom wording, so if one slips through, check the seller location and label.
- Print variants. Different production runs exist, and sealed copies in particular can be priced very differently depending on the run. Compare against clear photos of the label and box before paying a premium.
- Save mechanism. Galaga is an arcade port with no save feature, so a listing that mentions a save battery is describing something else.

Buying NES games: what to check by condition

Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
