How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 122 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 52 of 122 (~43%) for quality reasons. The remaining 70 are what we'd actually surface.
- 43 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 6 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 priced above the curated ceiling
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for R.C. Pro-Am (NES) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 110 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to R.C. Pro-Am (NES) because they are: that's the noise.

R.C. Pro-Am: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release and code: Rare's isometric racer for the NES, released in North America in the late 1980s. Listings commonly cite the US product code
NES-PM-USA; check that the code on the label matches the US release. - Saves: None. It is a straight arcade-style racer, so there is no save battery to worry about.
- Prints: Early-run and later reprint cartridges exist. Don't pay a premium for a "rare" print claim unless the seller shows the label and back of the cart clearly.
- Sequel trap: R.C. Pro-Am II is a separate, much pricier NES release from a different publisher. Listings mixing "Pro-Am" and "II", or a combined "I & II" title, are a different game and a different price band. Check the title and label before comparing asking prices.
- Lot trap: The game turns up constantly inside "NES lot" and "3 games" listings. A low headline price there is for a bundle, not for this cart.
Buying NES games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every NES cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
